Biography of Masaaki Suzuki
The Passion According to St. John, BWV 245 was conducted by Masaaki Suzuki, a powerful and entertaining conductor. This was his debut concert at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Masaaki Suzuki was born on April 29th, 1954 in Kobe, Japan. He was born to two Christian, amateur melodyians. So from a really young age he was playing music and eruditeness the trade from his parents. Later, he studied composition and organ at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. After success justy graduating from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music he went on to be taught harpsichord organ by net ton Koopman and Piet Kee and improvisation by Klass Bolt at the Sweelink Conservatory in Amsterdam.
In 1990 he founded the Bach Collegium Japan. This is one of his greatest and most well known accomplishments to date. He had a anger and obsession with Bach and turned that drive in into something for everyone to appreciate and love a baroque orchestra.
The special chosen group began to intermit concerts in 1992 for the public. They then made their first saves three eld later. He directs the group from the harpsichord. They are also currently recording Bachs realized cantas for BIS records. Suzuki is working independently on recording Bachs complete works for harpsichord and is one of the only few keyboard players to fill ever accomplished recording all four books of Bachs Clavier-Ubung.
Suzuki has established himself as a leading spot on the works of Bach. And that was very clear when I accompanied his performance and saw the passion he had.
