Santa Annas army is here. at that place seem to be about 4000 sol turn overrs of his at the Alamo right now. A letter came in from William B. Travis about him being there. I was real shocked to read that letter. I have a mental picture that Travis will die there, and that Texas is rightfully at risk right now. I pray things will come out good.

We are about to fight the Spanish army. It doesnt look too good out there. There is an eery silence right before battle I will probably die out there, but to my wife, Susanna, and my baby girl, Angelina, I love you both El Deuguello has begun playing, and the sound of exploding shells is mixing with that awe-inspiring music. I have loved working with Texas, but it is cartridge holder for my last battle.
