Then many geezerhood after, he became to enter in the congress and he was a candidate to be President of the North, beca office the state was divided in two part the North and the federationwest, scarce in 1860 he won the elections and he became to be major political from the North.
When he was the President he had a great thought, he cute the Union were to reachher the north and s awayh, this was his most important goal. He does not range nearly restrictions to people about some things such as slavery, but he wants the union together, put as a ruler. He wanted that the all branch states pay tribute and he will not use the war or force in those states. In other words, he do not make war and the states of the South and those could be separate of the North, but if they paid the taxes to the North. This made that the south would felt very annoying. Then, in 1861, the Civil war began.
At first, as he was undecided about his ideas of how to carry out this war, he began to try to organize and personally commanded this. Nevertheless, he not had much experience in this; a few months later put in charge of the army a man but he manages very slowly it.



Then, Lincoln returns and tries to attend as chief for the army. He began to win some battles but he also began to lose many fights too, then he began to think to be able to win battles.
Then he had to agree that the development of the war could only be changed to making the war a battle against slavery and with that, he could get much support from within and outside the Union.
