History of Special Education Law
before long students that accommodate disabilities usually go to the same human beings schools as students without disabilities. Unfortunately this was not the fountain in the past. Children with disabilities and their parents did not have many options when it came to educating their children. Special needs children are affected by regulations and legal philosophys that have been prepared to ensure they receive an appropriate fosterage and how to incorporate these laws.
At the beginning of the 20th Century protagonism groups were formed by parents in order to help dumbfound the needs of education for children with special needs to the publics attention. During the mid-century these groups achieved momentum.
The civil rights movement took place in the early mid-sixties and from this the study of inequality of education between children with disabilities was beginning. The decision from the case of Brown v. Board of Education, (Brown v. Board of Education, 1954) opened the doors and confronted the segregation of students with disabilities. (Landsing-Billings, 1994).



The flirts ruling was that students with disabilities had been segregated and was inappropriate, unnecessary, and unconstitutional.
Prior to 1970, there were merely a small amount of students with disabilities that were attending public schools. Changes came in 1975, when a federal law was written. The Education for All invalid Children Act, also known as (EHA) was the first major law that recognized and guaranteed those students ages 5 to 21 with disabilities have the right to public education in spite of their disability. The law also cognizant the civil rights to disabled students as well as their educational rights.
